About Jenny Johnson

Cllr Dr. Jenny Johnson was elected to Wirral Council in her home ward of West Kirby and Thurstaston in 2019, and re-elected in 2023. In November, Jenny was selected as the Parliamentary Candidate for Wirral West to fight the next General Election.

Both sets of Jenny's grandparents lived in Wallasey. Jenny was brought up in Pensby, where she attended Pensby primary and honour school before moving to Greasby and being educated at West Kirby Grammar School.

Jenny is now an associate professor at the University of Liverpool.

As a local councillor, Jenny has gained experienced in how the Council works, particularly in her varied roles including Chair of the Audit and Risk committee, the Police and Resources Committee and member fo the Tourism, Communities, Culture and Leisure Committee.

The local and professional knowledge Jenny has gained prepares her well as she seeks to represent the new Wirral West Constituency.

As MP for Wirral West Jenny would ensure she represents people here in Wirral in Parliament. Jenny wants Wirral back on the map and listened to.

Until the election, Jenny will continue to work hard to show people here she is the right person to become their MP and help improve the lives of families right across the constituency.
